Conference on Nordic Forest Policies

Forests are – maybe more than ever – subject to multiple pressing interests. In the interest of a development that is beneficial for society, forest policy seeks to find and implement optimal compromises between these interests. We are inviting you to a conference gathering scientists, policy makers and stakeholders to exchange what we already know about Nordic forest policies and identify what we still need to figure out.
There will be:
- high-level keynotes from science and policy
- a round table about the future of forest policies with participants from a wide range of stakeholders,
- scientific presentations, and a networking session.
We are now inviting for contributions to the program related to forests and forestry, especially on subjects the following subjects:
• Policy and governance
• Biodiversity and conservation
• Carbon storage and climate adaptation
• Timber production and resource management
• Wider benefits to people and communities
Despite the focus of the conference on Nordic forests, we very much welcome contributions on other subjects as well as from and about other regions. We welcome abstracts for either oral presentations or posters (250-300 words) until the 2nd of May, 2025, via the link below
Link to the submission webpage.
We are aiming at confirming the selection of contributions by the end of June.
Warm welcome to a transdisciplinary dialogue about Nordic forest policies!
This conference is organized by the NordForsk & SNS project GreenPole with the support of the Strategic Reserach Area BECC.
